Human Resources Accounting and Finance

Course: ACC4110

Human Resource professionals need a solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles to make strategic workforce and organizational decisions. Interpreting financial information enables HR leaders to contribute to planning, budgeting and resource allocation. Students explore key accounting principles, the elements of financial statements, financial ratio analysis, budgeting and control processes. Variable and absorption costing methods are also introduced. Students analyze financial statements, evaluate budget controls and develop evidence-based recommendations that support HR decision making. Through applied accounting exercises, case studies and financial analyses, students develop the analytical skills needed to support HR decision making.
